I’m changing jobs. I’ve been at Footnote.com for the last year or so, and it’s been a lot of fun. We worked on some cool stuff while I was there, and some of the stuff they’ve got cooking for the coming months is going to be great.

Last night I was working on a side project some of us at mediaRAIN have been working on, and I came across the snippet of code below. It’s from the NuSoap php libraries, in nusoap.php, around line 4423.

Looks like Donny & Marie have found a new line of work.

Now, I’m guilty of using iterators & other throwaway variables like bob and randy, so I can’t really point any fingers. I guess next time I’ll just have to start using more famous pairs though: $batman & $robin, $starsky & $hutch, etc. I mean, everyone uses bob, or foo.

I really found this more amusing than anything, so it’s not a complete wtf?!. Just something to wake you up and make you laugh when you’re just about to fall asleep at the keyboard again.

As part of the Flashforward Film Festival, each finalist was asked to prepare a 45 second trailer to help introduce the entry during the awards show.

MediaRain has posted our trailer, which was produced by myself and Dave Nibley at MediaRain. Dave took care of the animations and video editing, while I did the music and put the video on the web.

It’s a pretty nice little piece, and I think it represents the product well. There are four sizes of the video available, with your standard web sizes, and then the “Symphony Size” which is the full version used at the Festival.

Little bit of geek news… The text for the opening crawl of Episode III has been posted on StarWars.com. This is exciting news around MediaRain as May 19, 2005 has been designated as a holiday at the office.

The company that I work for, MediaRain, is currently looking for a few qualifed and experienced developers and designers. MediaRain places a heavy emphasis on using Flash for it’s projects, and we’re often pushing Flash to it’s limits.
