Flex Builder Cheat Sheet
by Josh on Oct.08, 2007, under AIR, ActionScript, Flex
Sure, there are several places out there where you’ll find this information, but nothing really in an easy-to-print form you could hang on your cube wall.
This list is far from comprehensive, but it’s a list of the ones I use most often, and find the most useful. There’s a reason I made the first one on the list “View all Shortcuts”.
As I’m a Mac user, the shortcuts are for the Mac version of Flex Builder, but I would assume that you Windows folks can just use Ctrl instead of the Command key.
Here’s a nice PDF, ready for printing: FlexBuilderShortcuts_MAC.pdf
If there’s something you really feel strongly about me having left off of the list, let me know in the comments, and I’ll add it to the list.

I’m still alive…
by Josh on Jun.13, 2005, under Random
It was pretty touch and go for a while, but I made it. (Actually, my life wasn’t in any real danger, but there were a few times where I just wanted someone to shoot me.) I’ve been down all week with a lovely combination of a sinus infection and bronchitis. I knew things weren’t good when my doctor looked down my throat Tuesday night and jumped back saying something like “aaagguhgghh!!!” (That’s the best I think I could spell that.)
Chat with a therapist - for free
by Josh on Mar.04, 2005, under Flash
Now, I can’t guarantee that anyone’s problems could be solved by chatting with Eliza, (in fact, they may get worse) but at least it’s fairly entertaining when you’re bored.
Eric’s recent posts showing all of the stuff he’s been doing lately with remoting and web services has got me interested in doing more with them. I’ve been doing some searching for some free ones to play with, and found Eliza here. I’ve seen various versions of this program around, and they all seem to make a little more sense than this one does, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t have fun chatting with someone who seems to have some problems of their own with this version.
It’s not the most elaborate thing, but it also goes to show how quickly you can incorporate an existing web service into your work. I think I spent a total of 15 minutes getting this put together and online once I found the service to use.

iTunes Rating App
by Josh on Feb.02, 2005, under Mac
For those of you coming from VersionTracker - I am NOT the developer of this application. I’m only hosting a mirror of it. Please do not email me with your support requests, or feature requests - I can’t do anything about them.
Free songs from iTunes
by Josh on Jan.15, 2005, under Random
Almost every week Apple provides at least one free song download from the iTunes store. Usually there are two songs available. However, currently there is an entire album’s worth of free music. I’ve been trying to collect them all with the help of this thread over at the MacRumors forums.
For the most part, the free music hasn’t been that great, but every once in a while there is some pretty good stuff. I found an album by a guy named Marc Broussard that I really liked, and ended up buying the entire album. It’s one of my new favorite cd’s. Check it out.
joshbuhler.com icon
by Josh on Jan.04, 2005, under Random
Most likely, unless one of my other six readers has the intials JB, I’ll be the only one using this. I’ve been playing around with creating my own icons for OS X lately, and I created the “official” joshbuhler.com icon the other night, and I have to admit, I think I did a good job with it. I wanted it to use for my Sites folder and as a Buddy Icon.
If you really want to, you can use it yourself, but it’s more online for me to show off a little bit.

This only works for OS X.
