Fact 8
I love cartoons. There’s something about hand-drawn animation that I find really appealing. I don’t have any problems with the newer Flash-animated or computer animated ones, but if I’ve got my choice between watching Pixar’s latest feature or watching Marvin try to destroy the Earth with his Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator, I’ll pick Marvin every time.
My favorites are Futurama, The Simpsons, the old Looney Toons, and Tom & Jerry shorts. After all, there we wouldn’t have the awesomeness that is Itchy and Scratchy if it wasn’t for Tom & Jerry. Honestly, sometimes the only difference between Tom & Jerry and Itchy & Scratchy is the amount of blood - the level of violence that they both try to inflict on each other is pretty equal. (I’ll also add that if there’s ever a DVD collection of only the Itchy & Scratchy shorts, I’d pick that up in a heart beat.)
Fact 7
I’ve never broken any bones. I’ve fallen and hurt myself plenty of times, but so far, haven’t broken anything.
I do however, have a broken tooth, as a result of my stellar athletic ability. I didn’t react fast enough, and ended up catching a baseball from my brother with my teeth.
Fact 6
I was a band geek in school. Marching band, pep band, jazz band, orchestra, playing for the musicals, etc. If there was a need for a trumpet player, I was there. I even played in the pit orchestra for another high school’s musical because they didn’t have enough trumpet players.

Fact 3
One of my favorite snacks used to be M&M’s - I’d blend a bag of the peanut butter kind with the crispy ones. Best. Mix. Ever. Unfortunately, the crispy M&M are no longer available in the US.
Fact 2
I’m not normally a superstitious person, but I’ve noticed that there are a few things I do enough that they could be considered superstitions:
- When I pick up my copy of Salt Lake City Weekly, doesn’t matter where I get it, I can’t take the copy on the top of the pile - it has to be the second from the top. If there’s only one, I won’t take it.
- In a public restroom, I’ll use three paper towels - no more, no less - to dry my hands.
- It doesn’t matter where I’ve worked, I’ve always had a Fender guitar pick taped to the corner of my computer display.
- I can’t leave the house without padding myself down, to make sure I have my wallet, keys, and cell phone. Even if I’m holding my keys in my hand, I’ll still check the pocket where I normally keep them.
Inspired by Jess’ excellent Apropos of Something blog, I’ll be sharing 100 facts about myself over the next 100 days. It’s part of my attempt to return to blogging, now that I’ll have at least one thing to post each day.
So, here we go…
