iTunes Rating App
by Josh on Feb.02, 2005, under Mac
For those of you coming from VersionTracker - I am NOT the developer of this application. I’m only hosting a mirror of it. Please do not email me with your support requests, or feature requests - I can’t do anything about them.
I’m pretty anal sometimes about my music collection. I like to have it as organized as possible, and in iTunes I’m applying a rating to each song and an EQ preset as well.
However, rating a song can be a little distracting sometimes or I’ll just forget to do it. So I was excited when I found Matthew Handley’s iTunesRating app. This adds the rating of the currently playing song into the menu bar of Finder, and allows you to adjust the rating of the song without leaving the current app.

I used to run iTunesRating as well, and loved it. But i’ve got a new Mac now, and cannot find the original app– neither in my own backups nor at the developer’s website… Any idea where to find this little gem these days?

(I tried finding it online, but even the url in the “About…” menu is 404′d - I’ll just post it myself.)

Appreciate the link…also couldn’t find it on the dev’s site.
Only a few thousand songs left to rate.

I’ve been searching all over for this program since my hard drive died. YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER!

Yeah, likewise. Looks like the author hasn’t come up with new webspace since graduating.

I downloaded this little app and it looked just like what i was looking for…however, it would not let me adjust the rating just see it…does anyone know what that’s about?

Hi,
I just finished “RateMe!”, inspired by the missing “iTunesRating” - for PPC and Intel Macs (Universal Binary), Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).
RateMe! also supports 1/2 stars:

Sources will be released as well under a GPL-license (as soon as I’ve cleaned it up)
Best regards,
