Fact 6

I was a band geek in school. Marching band, pep band, jazz band, orchestra, playing for the musicals, etc. If there was a need for a trumpet player, I was there. I even played in the pit orchestra for another high school’s musical because they didn’t have enough trumpet players.

One of the main reasons I ever did the band thing after middle school however, was because of a girl. In 9th grade, when deciding what classes to take, I considered sticking with the band thing, but wasn’t sure I really wanted to. All of my friends were going to do it, but the clincher was that she was as well.

Did we ever date? I took her out once, and it never really turned into anything. But we did become good friends. And when she later dropped out of the band, I was still having fun, so I stuck around. But in the end it worked out pretty good - marching band is where I met my wife. But that’s a story for another day.
