I’ve been struggling with this problem for a while now, and while it’s kinda nice to see that it’s been filed as a bug, and not something I’m doing wrong, it’s still frustrating because I need this working asap.

Basically, if you try to embed a font via CSS that’s included in a SWF file, and then try to embed some graphic assets from another SWF that use that same font (even in static text fields), the font via CSS won’t appear in your application.

I’ve tested this in Flex 2.0.1, and Flex 3 Beta 2, and it seems to be happening with both SDKs. (Though, it occasionally works with Flex 3.)

So… what can you do? The bug has been filed, but we need to let the Flex team know that we want it to be fixed. Vote for it. From the wiki:

One metric that the Flex management team uses in evaluating what bugs to address is the level of interest from the community. If you find a bug in the system that is important to you, add your vote to the issue. An issue that has no votes is less likely to be reviewed by the management team.

Sooner or later, I think just about anyone working with Flex is going to run into this issue, so it’s definitely one worth your vote.
