A while back I posted a link to a page from Opera’s Developer community that contained some info on developing Wii-Friendly web pages. However, for whatever reason Opera has decided that info is no longer worth sharing, and now you’ll receive an “Access Denied” error when visiting that page.
I’ve been working on a presentation for developing Flash games targeting the Wii browser for uFlash, and I’ve been rounding up some interesting info I figured I link into one place, at least for my own use if nothing else.

WiiCade Labs
WiiCade has launched a new labs section that contains their API (based on research posted by Mario Klingemann for connecting to the Wiimotes under the open-source LGPL & GPL licenses. This API allows you to access all four Wiimotes, as well as two buttons on three of the Nunchucks. The API uses a combo of Javascript & Local connection. In the testing I’ve done, it seems to work OK, but is a little laggy at times. But it still works, and will see some improvement I’m sure.
Pushing Buttons
Pushing Buttons has managed to save a bit of the info originally posted on Opera’s site that was later moved behind the “Access Denied” wall. This page contains info on the opera.wiiremote Javascript object available in the Wii browser. This object allows you to access several of the buttons on each Wiimote, as well as info such as each Wiimote’s rotation and distance from the sensor bar. There are also a couple of links to some demo pages on Opera’s site that weren’t removed along with the API info.
Cool stuff, so definitely check it out if you’re interested in getting some stuff working in the Wii browser.
