In case you haven’t heard, there’s a rumor going round that the Flash Player 8 Public Beta was released today.

I mention this because if you need to see a site where just installing a new version of the player can make a difference, check out this site.

The link is to a song on the LDS Church Music Site, something that I worked on. The song linked to is the largest song they have online, and if you play the song with the Auto-Scroll option turned ON (in the top-left), you’ll see a huge improvement in the performance. Make sure that you view the site first using Player 7, then install Player 8, and view it again. It’s a big difference.

It’s amazing that the only difference is a new version of the Flash Player, and already the site perfoms that much better. This next version of Flash is already looking a lot better.
